Sept 22, 2008 Meeting Minutes
Discussed Functional Requirements
Emergency Call System
-
Two types of calls;
-
Call for help with manual activation
-
Call for help with monitoring system -- discussed
possibility of heart rate monitoring.
-
Must work no matter what
Device Control
-
Television
-
Radio (music)
-
Bed
-
Bed control
-
Bolster control
-
Computer - does not have a computer but the customer
requested the use of one via an external keyboard.
-
Lights and Fan
-
Air Conditioner - does not currently have air conditioner
because Shamus does not have a reliable emergency system to call for help
and the door to his room cannot be closed. If the emergency system we
provide allows the door to be close, the customer would like to implement a
control for the air conditioner unit. (Maybe move this item to future)
-
Massage Chair - optional item requested
-
Step Counter for exercise machine.
-
Lever replacement on exercise machine. Customer
requested to have the lever that lifts Shamus onto his exercise machine to
be placed on the other side - could be future.
Discussed User Interface
-
The UI should not be a static configuration and should be
easily configurable.
-
The UI should be easily navigable.
-
There should never be more then 4 - 5 options on the
screen at any one time. Each option should scroll through until the
user acknowledges the option should stop.
-
There should be a 'Call' option available on each screen,
should an emergency situation arise.
-
The monitoring system will notify the user that an
emergency situation occurred and 'ask' the user if a call is needed.
Future Implementation Discussion - we decided out of the above
elements which items should be considered future implementations and which we
will build in for the prototype.
