Sept 8, 2008 Meeting Minutes

• Cannot Control Home Devices -- ie Move Bed, Control Television, Turn on Music, Turn on lights.
• Rated Shamus' ability level for various tasks;
  • Hand Control -- (2/10) Cannot hold a device and use it.
  • Arm Control -- (2/10) Cannot be used to control a device.
  • Head Control -- (5/10) Limited mobility but mobile enough to accomplish tasks.
  • Voice Control -- (4/10) Can communicate with family members that understand him, otherwise a device is needed.  Can control noises on demand.
  • Cognitive ability -- (4/10) Can learn how to use a device if taught.
  • Eye Control -- (8/10) Can move eyes and blink on demand to accomplish a task.
  • Leg Control -- (1/10) Can move legs but cannot stand/ walk on his own
• Decided to make a trip to Shamus' house to pose some questions for him and understand the problem better.

  • Each team member should have 2 questions ready for Shamus and/ or family
  • Get an idea of the daily routine of Shamus to better define the problem.
